Here are some progress photos of one of the RB26 engines we have in the build at the shop.
This particular engine is retaining the 2.6 litre capacity using Nitto Pistons and H beam rods, and a new factory crankshaft.

Piston crowns are coated in a heat proof gold coating to minimise heat soak into the pistons which keeps more heat in the combustion process increasing engine efficiency.
Piston skirts are coated in a Teflon coating that minimises friction between the bore and the piston, which again makes the engine more efficient.

Combustion chambers and valves have been coated in a grey heat proof coating to minimise heat soak into the cylinder head and valves which also keeps the heat in the combustion process instead of in the engine components.
The cylinder head was fitted with 1mm bigger valves and has received a very nice port job.

ARP head studs fitted to the block and then the head goes on.

We’ll be posting more pics in the coming weeks as the rest of the parts start to arrive from Japan.

Here’s a quick walk around video we took of one of the WRXs we’ve built here at Dahtone Racing.
This car makes over 400hp at the wheels from its 2.35L De-stroked EJ25.
It runs a GT30 turbo, ported and polished Version 6 STi heads with custom ground camshafts.
Drivetrain consists of a 5 Speed Modena Dogbox, billet drive shafts and much more.

The BR series coilovers use a large 44mm diameter piston in a 53mm diameter damper body to maximise oil capacity.
