After many ups and down this year and a super busy last 4 months we are due for a well deserved break.
Dahtone Racing will be closed over the Christmas and New Year holidays from 24/12/11 to 09/01/12.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us this year and hope to see you all again in the new year.

Here’s a couple more customers cars we’ve had in the shop recently.

Firstly Daniel’s Supercharged VY SS Commodore. Side mount charger, coil over suspension and a massive HSV brake package.

Jason’s MY01 WRX Hatch, with a complete STi conversion from engine and 6 speed box to interior, gauges and everything in-between.

And finally Jesse’s E36 convertible. Airbag suspension, kandy paint, huge custom audio setup and custom interior trim, makes for the perfect summer cruiser.

Our R32 is back from the panel beaters, it’s perfectly straight and coated in hi-fill.
It will sit like this for a couple of weeks so the hi-fill can harden completely to avoid any sink back on the repairs, then it gets wet sanded and finally painted.

We made a couple of changes while it was getting repaired, rear tow hooks were removed and the holes in the bar filled in.
The front guard indicators were also removed and the holes welded up.

Heres a quick photo of the condition the rear quarter panels were in before they were repaired.
Both the inner and outer skins were badly damaged.

This is how they look after the repairs were carried out.

Trim it

Some quick pics of the trim work we just fit into Dave’s DTR200 S14.
House of Trim did a great job covering the seats and door trims in black leather and carbon fibre accents with yellow stitching.
The S14 door trims were modified to fit with the S15 dash, next step is to trim the dash and centre console.

We recently had the roof of our R32 skyline covered in a layer of real carbon fibre, which will match nicely with the carbon fibre bonnet and boot lid.
Here are some pics of the process from bare metal to cleared and glossy.

Only thing left is to sand it back and clear coat it with the rest of the car so it has a seemless look and no raised edges.
